ReflectionForming positive and supportive connections with families, colleagues and the wider communities is something I believe is invaluable to a school environment. I firmly believe in the principles of this standard and the emphasis it places on not only inviting and welcoming parents into my classroom, but then continuing to seek their support, participation and engagement in the learning of their child throughout the full duration of their schooling years. This is for the key reason that it has been proven that same-side collaboration from teachers, families and the community provide students with a sense of strength and support which maximises student achievement results (Education Queensland, 2012).
In addition to this, I believe that all teachers should conduct themselves in a professional manner in light of ethics and legislation in order to uphold the reputation and dignity that this profession deserves (AITSL, 2012). This is something that I believe I am able to pride myself on achieving through my responsibility for personal development, the way I conduct myself in the school environment and my attitudes and practices. This is evidenced through my final report which clearly highlights that other professionals have recognised my skill in conducting myself in a professional manner with families, colleagues and broader communities. |
